Center for Pharmaceutical Data Science Education

Pharma is full of data,
but not data science.

We are here to change that — educating the next generation of drug experts who speak both data and drugs.

Pharmaceutical sciences,
boosted by data science

CPDSE is dedicated to developing research-based education for the future workforce of drug experts — spanning bachelor, master, PhD and life-long learning levels. Pharmaceutical scientists will become bilinguals speaking both "data and drugs".

We are 60+ people across seven university departments at two universities, with distinct strengths in pharmaceutical sciences, data science, and science education.

Our Journey

From our foundation to today, key milestones have shaped how CPDSE educates and connects the pharmaceutical data science community.

The vision condenses

People from UCPH, SDU, the foundations and stakeholders together develop the vision and establish the frames.

Grant!

The grant is awarded and the collaboration agreements are finished.

Opening for Center Leader role announced.

Season 1: From Idea to Mobilization

Existing university staff, center leader and coordinator mobilize and take responsibility for sub-areas termed circles.

First CDPSE Retreat

25 active CPDSE people evaluated season 1 and made plans for season 2.

Season 2: From Mobilization to Perseverance and Clarity

Gradual shift from getting to know and owning plans to acting and impacting outwards.

What's happening now

  • Initiatives to increase project maturity and visibility of deliverables.
  • Upstaffing and onboarding.
  • Clearer allocation of data scientists to existing courses.

A center built by people, not just programs

CPDSE is a cross-institutional community of students, researchers, educators, data scientists, pharmacists and collaborators working together to strengthen pharmaceutical data science education.

We grow through shared projects, workshops, retreats, teaching development and everyday collaboration across UCPH and SDU. What makes the center valuable is not only the formal structure, but the people in it: a community that exchanges ideas, builds capacity and helps each other move from plans to practice.

Students

We provide consultations to help you enter data science, overcome project challenges, and build data literacy. We run workshops and coding events, creating a safe and collaborative space.

Teachers & Researchers

We develop hands-on educational materials to embed and expand data science in university curricula, while training educators and providing data-driven methodological expertise.

Life-long Learners

We reach beyond university borders by creating opportunities for networking and continuous knowledge exchange through workshops, symposiums, and community events.

Educate data & drug bilinguals

We aim to upskill and educate people that understand and can apply the right data science across the breadth of the pharmaceutical value chain.
